Hueytown’ s 38th Annual Christmas Parade Saturday\, December 5\, 2:00 PM Theme: A To y Story Christmas! Santa Claus is our featured guest each year\; therefore \, participants are not permitted to use a live Santa in their display/flo at/performance. Will begin at 2:00pm am at the First Methodist Church. (11 0 Sunset Drive) RAIN OR SHINE. Line-up begins at 12:00p. All participants should be ready by 1:30pm! $30 per entry NEW!!! PRIZE INCREASE FOR BEST FL OAT & VEHICLE: (for those who entered to be judged) Float Category & Prize : *1st Place: $500 *2nd Place: $300 *3rd Place: $100 Vehicle AND Golf Cart /UTV Category: 1st Place: $50 Only licensed drivers are authorized to oper ate motorized vehicles participating in the parade. You will received an a ssigned number. This number MUST be written on paper no smaller than 8.5x1 1 and prominently displayed in the front driver’s side windshield of eac h vehicle associated with each entry. YOU are responsible for writing your number! Walking groups should carry\, and all know their number. Any entr y without a number displayed cannot be judged & will be placed at the end of the lineup. If you line-up late\, you will have to go to back of line. REMINDER – NO LIVE SANTAS – “THE” Santa will be in the firetruck W e HIGHLY RECOMMEND that each entry play Christmas music from their float o r vehicle\, if possible. Entrants who are out of order will be moved to th e side to allow for correct numbering so please leave the lots as instruct ed and do not stop allowing other entrants to proceed before you. Once you register and pay you agreed to the WAIVER\, RELEASE\, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT below SPONSOR: Th e Hueytown Area Chamber of Commerce / City of Hueytown EVENT: 2026 Christm as Parade to be held on December 5\, 2026 IN CONSIDERATION of being permit ted to participate in the EVENT\, the undersigned agrees: 1. To completely and fully assume the risk of property damage\, serious injury\, illness a nd death. Organized parade activities\, including vehicles\, motorcycles\, floats\, and trailers\, marchers/people on foot\, and/or horses and other animals\, (collectively\, the Parade) carry significant risk that there c an be damage caused by collision\, collapse\, animals\, etc. Participants\ , their passengers\, crew\, associates\, and guests may become seriously i njured\, or even killed\, by such these or other types of accidents\, or m ay become ill and/or die by infection from a pathogen\, virus\, or bacteri a contracted while at the Event. These risks can be increased by the prese nce of crowds and the number or size of the Parade. The undersigned is awa re of these significant risks and assumes these risks as part of the under signed's desire to participate in this event. 2. That the Event herein is defined as including but not limited to and all activities on and along th e parade route and other appurtenant areas where any activity related to t he Event\, or to officiate\, observe\, work for\, or any purpose participa te in the Event. The Undersigned\, for himself/herself and his/her persona l representatives assigns\, heirs\, and next of kin\, agrees\, and on the direct representation that the Undersigned has\, or will immediately inspe ct such areas\, and upon such inspection declares\, by then entering such areas\, an acknowledgement that the inspected areas are safe and reasonabl y suited for the purposes of the Event for which this Waiver\, Release\, a nd Assumption of Risk applies\, and further agrees and warrants that if\, at any time the undersigned is in or about the Event areas and feels anyth ing to be unsafe\, the Undersigned will immediately advise the Sponsor of such and will leave such areas. 3. That the Undersigned HEREBY RELEASES. W AIVES\, DISCHARGES\, AND COVENANTS NOT TO SUE the Sponsor\, their officers \, directors\, members\, officials\, drivers\, volunteers\, promoters\, ad vertisers\, owners\, employees\, shareholders\, affiliates\, agents\, repr esentatives\, successors and assigns and lessees of premises used to condu ct the event\, agencies of government which control essential land and wat er sites\, financiers and firms which render essential service gratis\, an d each of them\, their officers and employees\, all for purposes herein re ferred to as RELEASEES\, from all liability to the Undersigned\, and the u ndersigned's personal representatives\, assigns\, heirs\, and next of kin for all loss of damage\, and any claim or demands therefore\, on account o f injury to the person or property or resulting in death of the Undersigne d\, whether caused by the negligence of RELEASEES or otherwise while the U ndersigned is in or upon the EVENT areas\, and or officiating in\, observi ng\, working for\, or for any purpose participating in the Event. 4. That the Undersigned HEREBY AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the RELEASEES from any loss\, to person\, vehicle or machine\, liability\, dam age\, or cost they may incur due to the presence of the Undersigned in or upon the Event and Event areas\, or in any way or officiating in\, observi ng\, working for\, or for any purpose participating in the Event\, and whe ther caused by the negligence of RELEASEES or otherwise\; and HEREBY ASSUM ES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR AND RISK OF BODILY INJURY\, DEATH\, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE due to negligence of RELEASEES or otherwise while in or upon the E vent and Event areas\, and/or officiating in\, observing\, working for\, o r for any purpose participating in the Event. This assumption of risk of n egligent RELEASEES is separate and additional to the assumption of risk an d property damage inherent in activities associated with the Event and any parade. Owner's insurance/liability is primary over event insurance in ca se of bodily or property damage. If owner's insurance does not cover loss\ , owner will be liable. The Event offers no supplemental insurance of any kind. 5. That the Undersigned will not have taken any illegal substances n or consumed alcohol 8 (eight) hours before the Event and will not consume same while operating a vehicle\, float or trailer and will not allow any p assenger or guest on same to be to under the influence of any illegal subs tances or legal substances\, including but not limited to alcohol or medic al marijuana\, that could impair the judgment and/or interfere with the sa fe operation or occupation of a float. 6. The Undersigned acknowledges tha t numerous loading/landing/access platforms or ladders which may be used i n The Event are temporary and are not engineered. They exist for the benef it of temporarily accommodating users. The stability of these platforms or ladders may be less than an engineered one and the Undersigned shall make the most minimal use of them as possible and assumes the risk that any of them could increase the likelihood of injury and property damage. 7. That the weather is erratic and unpredictable. The changing weather conditions can increase the likelihood of property damage and personal Injury. Float s may be more unstable during some weather conditions and changes and the Undersigned assume the risk of any loss\, whether property or bodily\, for any participation in the Event in any type of weather. 8. That the Unders igned expressly acknowledges and agrees that the activities of the Event a re possibly dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage and further expressly agrees that this Waiver and R elease of Liability and Indemnity Agreement extends to all acts of neglige nce by the RELEASEES\, INCLUDING NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS\, and is inte nded to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the law of the state in which the Event is conducted\, and that if any portion thereof is held inv alid\, it is agreed that the balance notwithstanding\, shall continue in f ull legal force and effect. THE UNDERSIGNED HAS READ AND VOLUNTARILY SIGNS THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT\, and furthe r agrees that no oral representation\, statements\, or inducements apart f rom the foregoing written agreement have been made. 9. That I the Undersig ned am the vehicle operator and I am a person 19 years of age or older. Th e Undersigned agrees to be responsible for everyone in and on the vehicle\ , float\, and trailer\, where applicable. The undersigned agrees to be res ponsible for ensuring that everyone in or on the vehicle\, float and trail er where applicable board maintains good and safe behavior\, and for ensur ing the vehicle maintains a reasonable speed based on the conditions and c ircumstances then existing\, but never in excess of the speed limit rules for the Event. 10. Each animal owner must have present at the Event one de signated "Animal Controller" who shall be a natural person at least 19 yea rs of age who shall be responsible for ensuring the control of said animal (s) and the safety of all those around the animal(s) at all times.
